6 Way of depth

This was our last assignment done, the 6 way of depth. The way I showed overlap are the buildings going farther and farther apart, one is behind the other. The way I showed linear perspective is by the road going horizontally creating the illusion of depth. Thirdly, the way I showed size change are the cars, the farther the object is away from us the smaller it will appear. Next would be the loss of detail, the way I showed that is by the buildings going smaller and as it goes smaller it gets blurrier, as you can see the buildings at the further back. Second last would be the colour change, the colour change in my piece is the sky. Lastly, the high and low placement is the really small details such as the flag pole.

My Anamorphic

 

This was the image of the fish I was drawing, it was one of the easiest one I drew from out of the three. The hard part was finding which body part was where, I had to follow exactly which squares are at.

 This was my second step to my anamorphic, I had to expand the fish and it was really hard, it takes a lot of time.

The class was assigned to draw an image and to expand it. This was one of the hardest assignment I've done.

Anamorphic is to be seen in a certain angle for the picture and for my work, it can only be seen in a cylinder shape mirror to make my image not look distorted. My ideas changed a lot from dolphin,snake to then my final idea a fish. I tried to find a simple picture of a fish to draw because I had a lot of difficulties drawing the image from a 10 by 10 grid and expanding it. When I found the image I was drawing, I then used photo shop to paste the image onto the 10 by 10 grid and printed it out to then start on expanding the image to create the distorted look.

These were the two images that I attempted to draw but I couldn't work with it until I came up with my final idea. My anamorphic is as simple as it can be, I added in some details onto the fish because I wanted the fish to have more of a look than just its eyes and mouth. The colours I used are to make the fish have a bright and even colour.

This would be my second last assignment, the theme is flying. This would probably be one of the easiest piece for me to draw, its pretty clean and simple. My idea was to draw a person sky diving and this was my only idea I had in mind.There wasn't isn't much to this art work but I completed it with pencil.

Slithery Sponge bob

This is my fifth assignment and the theme is slither. My first idea was to draw a snake but I figured I'd do something else. My idea came from working with my project of Spongebob Square pants slide show. This drawing was done by pencil. I call this art piece, Slippery-do. Sponge bob is one of my favorite shows and I love to draw him. 

When I searched sponge bob this image came through and instead I only used the body form he was in and change the whole scene to water. I decided not to draw the arms or legs because I figured since he's a sponge he didn't need arms or legs. I barely had any trouble with this assignment.

Artificial Bird

This was my fourth assignment, the theme was artificial and my idea was to have two birds together but one is of course artificial. My first idea was to draw a  two toucan birds instead of a parrot but it didn't work so well. For the bird on the left, I shaded it in for the bird to look as realistic as possible with small details such as the feathers and the small pattern around the eye area. For the bird on the right side was the easiest one to draw because there wasn't much to it since it was the artificial bird. I was going for the plastic look, so I didn't want to add any details to it. This drawing was all done by pencils only. This was one of the hardest topic for me but actually one of my favorite.

For the bird on the left I used this image to help draw my bird. The head position is much different from my actual drawing and the body form but I followed some of the details on this bird. I also followed the light/dark part of the lighting on the bird.

And now to my artificial bird, I used this image to help me draw the bird. I looked at all sorts of plastic like birds to help make my bird on the right look fake.

My dwarfs

I was assigned to draw my own dwarf and this is what I came up with.The characters I drawn are actual dwarfs, there are about 7 different emotions. The emotions I drew are gloomy, goofy, sick, shocked, tired, angry and smarty. The troubles I had with my characters were drawing the different emotions, it was hard to keep the characters the same. I'm not good at drawing body parts such as the arms and the hands, so I also had trouble with that.

Acrobat

This was my third assignment, the theme is Acrobat. This is called Acrobat Explosion The idea I had in mind at first was drawing as many different acrobat positions as possible, they would be all over the place but then as I was drawing I decided that for every acrobat person they would have their own scene of presentation. When I finished I chose to colour the acrobats black and the background colours bright but as I thought I figured its better if the acrobats were colored. The background is a plain color except for the bottom right because I wanted one thing to stand out. The hardest part of this piece would bet the colouring, I had trouble finding what colours to use.

I got my acrobat positions from this image but this isn't all of it.

My dwarf creation

This is my creation of my dwarf, the emotion that I used is goofy and the name that has been given to him is Dr.Loafy. I wanted his look to be silly, I added in as much details as I could because at the start of my dwarf when I thought the look was complete, it was too simple and plain when I decided to added in all sorts of details such as hair, bandage, stitches and what not. The details I added in were basically to create his sloppy and careless look, for instance the bandage was to show he is careless.

 
The hardest part of creating my dwarf would probably be the hair. My other idea for creating the hair was to make strands and strands of hair but instead I molded all pieces together and use a cutting tool to create the piece of strands itself as you can see in this image.


But for the hair above his hat was when I decided to use the idea I had first, which was creating pieces of pieces of strands because I wanted more details by popping out the hair, and I wanted his hair to have a messy look. I placed the strands of hair all over the place to create that messy look.
 
The easiest part of creating my dwarf would be making the hat. I wanted my dwarf to have a sloppy look and so I cut the dwarfs hat making the hat look really worn out and used.

The emotion that was supposed to be used is gloomy but as I was making my dwarf I decided to go with goofy because I had more ideas for it.

You can see the details much closer in this image. The labeled word ''GOOF'' placed on his hat was just something I wanted to add because the hat was still too plain and so I made patches of squares to make it look like extra quilts to create that old look.

For the tip of the hat, it was actually supposed to be one ball but then I decided to add in more balls to make that fluffy look. In this picture you can tell that there are rips and stitches to create that 'worn out' look. Lastly, for the eyes I was going to leave it carved with nothing in it but decided to just make two small balls and fill it in the carved area.

This assignment was really fun because I love working with hands and because I never worked with plasticine before, so I learned and tried something new.

Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs

Dusty

This is the first sketchbook assignment I've done in the beginning of second semester. The theme was dusty, and my idea was having little dust people running in fear from the swifter! This is called ''The Swiper'' I thought of this title because of the show Dora The Explorer that has a character name swiper the fox. My first idea before I came up with this one is drawing a shelf with ancient tea set in a cabinet that hasn't been open for years but it didn't work well for me so I went with my second choice. I only used pencils and pencil crayons.The colors that are used most in my drawing is black because theirs not much too it, just dust. The blue colour represents the clean side that the swifter has cleaned, I didn't want the colour to be too dark so I colored it in lightly or any bright colours since the theme is dusty and I wanted the picture to be simple and dark. I drew as many dust people with different actions to fill in the spaces. I also included dust balls because I didn't want to just include dust people.

When I thought of this idea I thought of the advertisement of Swiffer.

When I decided to draw this, my friend gave me an idea of drawing little dust people running and so that's when I came up with my final idea.

Spooky

This is my second sketchbook assignment, the theme was spooky. I got my idea from the movie Monster inc but I created them to make them look more frightening. Their characteristics in the movie is portrayed friendly, but in my drawing I designed them to be evil looking. 

For my background colours, I used dark colours such as brown and black; which made it become more terrifying. The faces of the characters is changed, by adding scary features such as sharp teeth, saliva and the look of anger. They are creeping out to find someone to scare or eat! I wanted the monsters to stand out so I used colours such as lime green, purple and light blue. This was actually my only idea I had in mind. I had difficulties on colouring in the blue monster just because the monster had blue and purple fur and I couldn't blend it in well so it didn't turn out as how I imaged it.

Final Texture Face

This is my final texture face, the colours I used are warm colours. As you can see there are different textures in different shapes. For this assignment, I had to go around the school and shade in different textures that I could find. This was mostly all used on computer, I learned to photo shop the textures I coloured and placed it on the differenet shapes.

I made three different mask and I chose this one, I was imaging a superman type of mask. I used as many different textures I could find. For the mouth, the zigzags indicates teeth's, I wanted the look to be robot like, so I used the purple brick textures to show that he's solid as well as the rectangle patterns that were colored from a heating vent, the eyes have numbers, showing that theres a glitch happening. Onto his eyes, its wrapped in a orange colour cloth, the patterns are the lines, I wanted the texture to be simple. The colours that I used are purple,orange,red,yellow and pink.

Overall, this assignment was pretty fun, I enjoy going around school and shading in multiple patterns. I also loved that I learn how to work the photo shop application.

In process of my texture face

The beginning of first semester we began working on something called Texture face. We walked around school shading in on different materials to see different types of textures. We than started to draw masks with all sorts of shapes and in those shapes will be the different types of textures we found around the school. This is my texture face that I came up with. I believe this was my third drawing, the other masks that I drew didn't seem to suite what I was looking for and then I came to this drawing. At the end of this work, my mask will be filled with colors of different textures.

The other textures I had are these. I didnt choose either if this because they weren't what I was really looking for. The mask were to simple and boring.
